I did not experience this with the previous pair when they were new. Both pairs needed a break in of about one to two weeks. During this period the boot would dig into the inside of my foot just above the ankle bone.

Right out of the box they are comfortable. Just cuz you have to wear steel toes doesn't mean you can't have some style too. I wear shorts to work all the time and with these you don't look like the clowns that wear boots with shorts. If you like the way these look you will love the way they wear.
